Sushi Rice Perfection: While the sushi rice will be provided by Chef's In Progress, students will receive a demonstration on how to prepare the perfect sushi rice—a critical foundation for any sushi dish. The class will discuss the importance of selecting the right short-grain rice, properly washing it, and cooking it to achieve the ideal texture. The recipe for sushi rice will be sent home with each student so they can practice and perfect it on their own. 2. Rolling Techniques: Using a bamboo mat, students will practice the skillful art of rolling sushi, specifically California Rolls. They’ll learn to balance flavors and textures by incorporating fresh ingredients like cucumber, avocado, and imitation crab.
