Hola, Young Chefs! This winter break, we’re heading south of the border to explore the vibrant flavors and festive traditions of Mexico — without leaving the kitchen!

In this hands-on workshop, students will create two authentic favorites completely from scratch:

This January, Chefs In Progress proudly features  Chase Foreman — a talented Chef and Published Author!


In this hands-on workshop, students will bake Rustic Smores Chocolate Chip Cookies topped with toasted marshmallow and a chocolate drizzle, inspired by Chase’s new children’s book, Cookie and Milk. Together, we’ll mix, shape, and bake golden, chewy cookies with a cozy, rustic twist.

After baking, Chef Chase will share about his journey as a young author and sign copies of his debut book for each participant to take home.

This special event combines baking, storytelling, and inspiration—a true celebration of creativity, differences, and unexpected friendships.

Get ready for  the ultimate bubble tea night! In this hands-on dessert lab, young chefs  will step into their very own Boba shop—shaking, rolling, and mixing  their way to custom creations they can actually drink and eat!

✨ On the Menu
🍹 Build-Your-Own Boba Tea
 Students will make their bubble tea totally from scratch, just like a real boba bar:

  • Make 
    tapioca dough
     from scratch, roll it, and cut it into boba pearls
  • Cook pearls until they’re perfectly chewy and glossy
  • Color their pearls with fun shades like:
  • Matcha green
  • Butterfly pea blue
  • Strawberry pink
  • Cocoa brown

Create custom flavor syrups

Mix teas (black tea, jasmine, or kid-friendly caffeine-free options)
Use shakers and cups to shake, layer, and build their own boba drinks
Customize with milk, fruit add-ins, or layered “Instagram-worthy” drinks
❄️ Snow Crisps
 Crunchy, airy, lightly sweet 
Snow  Crisps made with crispy rice, marshmallow, and a dusting of powdered  “snow.” These are kid-favorite, handheld treats that pair perfectly with  their bubble tea.

Valentine’s Day just got WAY sweeter! In this fun, love-themed baking workshop, young chefs will create Hidden Heart Cupcakes—cupcakes that look ordinary on the outside but hide a colorful heart right in the center. Slice them open and surprise! It’s a cupcake love note.

Kids will bake fluffy vanilla cupcakes from scratch, tint batter Valentine colors, craft the hidden heart, and top everything with silky cream cheese frosting swirls. Cute, creative, and perfect for gifting (or keeping!).
