Step 1 – Book your class on our website

- Pick your class and go to checkout.

- In the discount/promo code box, type PEP.

- That code will make your balance go to $0.


This code is ONLY for families who are funded through Step Up. If you are not funded, do not use

the code.


Step 2 – Reserve your funds in Step Up

- Go to n https://www.stepupforstudents.org/

- In the search bar, type Chefs or Chefs In Progress.

- Scroll until you find our program.


Step 3 – Match the payment amount

- Our classes are either $45 or $55.

- Double-check the class you booked and make sure you request the correct dollar amount in Step Up.


Step 4 – Reserve funds immediately

- You must log in to Step Up and reserve funds right after booking your class.

- Do not wait — this step is required to hold your spot.

 If you follow these steps exactly, your class will be booked correctly.

✨ This November, our homeschool chefs are diving into 
French culture
—exploring  the people, the landmarks, and the traditions that make France unique.  Alongside cultural discoveries, students will learn to prepare 
Gougères  – airy, golden cheese puffs that are a true staple of the French table.  This hands-on class introduces foundational pastry techniques, the  importance of flavor balance, and the art of presentation.

Class 2: Soups & Breads – French Farmhouse Comforts
Theme:Cozy, rustic flavors with real French skill-building
✨ This November, our homeschool chefs are exploring French  culture—the people, the landmarks, and the traditions that make France  unique. In this session, students will craft a warming Soupe de Tomate  Provençale (Provencal Tomato Soup) and bake Fougasse, a rustic  leaf-shaped herb bread that is both beautiful and delicious. These  recipes teach foundational techniques in bread-making and soup  preparation, while highlighting the cozy, comforting flavors of the  French countryside.

CLASS 3 OF 4: Main Course – French Bistro Classics

Class 3: Main Course – French Bistro Classics
Theme: Hearty flavors and essential French cooking techniques
✨ This November, our homeschool chefs continue exploring 
French  culture—its people, landmarks, and traditions—while mastering a classic  French main course. In this session, students will prepare Chicken  Chasseur (Hunter’s Chicken), a rustic dish with a savory tomato,  mushroom, and herb sauce, paired with Pommes Persillade (Garlic Parsley  Potatoes)
Students will practice foundational techniques like  sautéing, deglazing, and balancing bold flavors that define French  bistro cooking.

Class 4: French Desserts – French Desserts 

✨ To close out our  journey through French culture—its people, landmarks, and  traditions—students will explore the sweet side of France by making two  beloved desserts: Mousse au Chocolat (French Chocolate Mousse)
 and Madeleines (Shell-Shaped Tea Cakes). 
This  class highlights contrast in texture and technique, from the airy  richness of mousse to the delicate sponge of Madeleines. Students will  practice essential pastry skills such as whipping, folding, and  precision baking, ending the series on a truly elegant note.
